Drum Birthing Workshop & Naming Ceremony
April 27 and 28 10:00 am both days. End time will vary between 4:00 and 5:00 pm each day.
Drum Birthing Workshop & Naming Ceremony
It is an honor to be the keeper of a drum. The Spirit of the animal and the Spirit of the tree are gifts that live within the drum and drum stick. It is a living, breathing entity. The drum is a sacred Medicine tool. The drum has many uses from healing ceremonies to personal journey work.
Birthing a drum is not a craft project.
You will create, decorate and empower your own magical drum and drum stick (we do not call this a beater, I will explain further at the workshop). Journey to discover the Spirit and name of your drum. Honor, name and celebrate its creation with a ceremony.
To birth a drum is a beautiful process of connecting to the animal and tree spirits and singing the hide into place. Each drum making workshop is a labor of love, it is easing the lace ever tighter to stretch the drum head into its voice. Every drum has its own voice and its power. The sounds of the drum are a calling to align all hearts that hear its voice. The drum beat is the Earth’s heartbeat held in your hands, drum and drumstick.
You will join Patti Two Ravens Gile in a 2-day facilitated drum birthing workshop to create and birth your own drum. Patti has been making drums for several years under different masters and is the drum keeper of Mother Moose Drum, a 36” x 17” 14-sided mother drum. She has facilitated the drum making workshop for Earth Circles and at her home, Raven’s Nest. She is Metis (Native/European) and follows an Earth-centered, and heart centered spiritual path. Patti has been a mentor of women in recovery for over 30 years and is Reiki Master Teacher and shamanic practioner.
We will be using your choice of rawhide and 16” maple wood frames.

I have participated in this class and hosted it several times. I believe that everyone serious aboutspiritual drumming should have the experience of making a drum at leat once in thier lifetime. We are always happy to welcome Patti to teach here.
